劇情內容
高跟鞋在劇中一開始就已經出現，並且成為一個很清楚的意象。姊姊坐擁滿室的名牌的高跟鞋卻鮮少穿它們，這點從角色刻 畫上即看得出來原因。姊妹倆的母親在她們幼年時期因意外過世，使的姊姊承受得負起照顧妹妹的心裡責任。另外，姊姊在 外型上也總是被嘲笑的那一個。當妹妹問她既然不穿的話幹嘛買，她抱著她的鞋說「有用的！至少我心情不好的話看到這些 鞋我也開心！」她是個很渴望自由渴望得到幸福的女人，但無奈外型不佳、妹妹不長進，內心還是缺乏自信、是空虛的。 妹妹截然不同，可以用嬌縱放蕩來形容。姊姊儘管跟她有諸多爭執，但一些逆耳忠言還聽的進去。「你不能老靠這張臉吃飯。 當你年華老去，現在幫你買單的男人又會勾搭上年輕妹妹...」她開始找工作，但不久又故態復萌。直到情節的高潮驚爆後， 她離去，到另一個陌生的地方開啟她人生的轉捩點。她學著長大，從為臥床老人讀詩獲得成就感，也獲得心靈的成長。 Elizabeth Bishop One Art
